The guest spot was revealed Wednesday night when Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl was once again hosting the E! talk show Chelsea Lately and had Elton on as his guest. Grohl told the audience, “Recently, Elton and I recorded something together, something people wouldn’t imagine the two of us doing together.” Elton admitted that he was relieved he wasn’t asked to perform on a ballad. He added, “Nobody really asks me to do stuff — they think I’ll say no.”
Other guests on the Queens of the Stone Age album include Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor, ex-Queens bassist Nick Oliveri and occasional Queens vocalist Mark Lanegan. There’s still no release date.
